Total Recoil Blasts its way onto the App Store [iOS Quick Look]
Eiconic Games Limited an indie game studio from the UK has just released there latest top down shooter Total Recoil onto the App Store. We have had the chance to go hands on with this shooter and we have enjoyed our time with the game. Today is the first day of availability on the App Store.
If you have played top down shooters you will no doubt be able to pick up this game and start playing it immediately. The controls are very fluid and use the virtual d-pad format.
Total Recoil has great artwork and in game menus that allure you into the campaign mode that can be pretty challenging. The game difficulty starts out pretty easy but sooner than expected you are immersed into a full on warzone with landmines, missiles, flamethrowers, and all manner of enemies to defeat.
Most all objects on the battlefield can be destroyed and you will find coins that will help you purchase better weapons, upgrades, and armor. You also have certain abilities such as the power to call in an airstrike or place a Gatling gun in the middle of a firefight to aid you in destroying the enemy.
The environments in Total Recoil do change but we do wish that there was more variety in the levels. We play the game on our 3rd gen iPad and we could tell the resolution was not quite “retina” resolution. The graphics do look nice with cool explosions and battle effects. Total Recoil does have many levels that you can really sink your teeth into with fun top down shoot em action galore.
