Tiny Wings has finally got it’s update, and we already went through it. The game has definitely improved, it is not just an endless game anymore. Check out in this review what is new.

Graphics:

The graphics in the game seem to look nicer. The iPhone version was just a free update, there is also Tiny Wings HD just for the iPad which is priced at $2.99. The game is very colorful, the levels constantly change colors, and the birds are just too cute. The game is very artistic, and you will find all kinds of slopes. Some levels are at night time, and other ones during day time in the new levels added.

Controls/Gameplay:

We all know the controls of this game, just tap and hold your finger on the screen to make your bird go down, and release your finger to make your bird fly. The endless part of the game is pretty much the same. Your main goals are to get as far as you can, and to complete goals in order to level up. Leveling up will help you get a score multiplier. The new part is the new game mode, flight schools. Flight Schools contains 15 new levels where you will race against other 3 birds. The new levels also feature new things like water. If you fall in the water it will make you slow down. Also flowers are found in the levels, if you land on them, they will make you jump.

The levels are not too long, they probably last around 45 seconds. Some of them get a little challenging, Tiny Wings is a game where you get better with practice. Before you start playing the actual levels, you can also choose which bird you want to be. There are 4 different birds you can choose. In order to unlock new levels, you need to finish at least in third place, which is not too hard. The real challenge is to finish in first place :) . One aspect I though it was pretty cool about the iPad version, is that you can play against your friends on the same iPad. The screen splits in half, and you can both play at the same time. The music in the game is one of the few things that didn’t change in the game.

Story/Premise:

The story is so cute in this game. It is about a bird that has always dreamed of flying. Unfortunately it’s wings are tiny, and don’t help very much. Luckily the world has lots of hills, and you use them to your advantage. Gravity plays an important role in the game.

Replay Value:

With the new levels added, Tiny Wings will give you more gameplay other than just an endless mode. This update was in much need, I felt like I was getting bored with the game. Finishing the levels on first place will also take sometime to achieve.

Conclusion:

The game has improved, it is always nice to have additional new content in a game. It was also great for iPhone owners to just get the free update. It is up to you to judge if it is worth $2.99 for the iPad version. Like I said, the feature where you can play against your enemies on the same iPad is really cool. I definitely like the idea of having actual levels in the game, other than just an endless mode, that to me is a plus. Also the good news is that there aren’t any in app purchases.

Check out this video showing the new gameplay, racing against other birds.
