Super Mole Escape, How Long Can You Escape For? [iOS Review]

Super Mole Escape is another endless runner game with some nice cartoony design. This game is from adult swim, and it is one of those games that are simple, yet quite a good time waster. Read our full review to know more about this fun game for all ages.

Graphics:

The graphics in the game are not quite retina, they still look pretty good though. During the game, you will switch backgrounds pretty often. Some are snow levels, others a volcano level, others are very colorful, and more. The style of the game is more cartoony as you can tell.

Controls/Gameplay:

The controls in the game are simple enough for anybody to be able to play the game. All you do is tilt your device to move your character, and tap the power up botton on the screen if you have a power up and want to use it. The tilting seems to work pretty good, I haven’t really experienced any problems so far.

Your objective during the game is to run away from the police. I guess you were a prisoner and you are now trying to get your freedom back. There are 7 different characters you can choose. Only 2 will be available in the beginning, you will be able to unlock more characters by collecting gems during the levels. The upgrades in the store so far seem pretty simple. You can upgrade each character’s abilities. The speed, acceleration, and strength are the abilities you can upgrade. You can also upgrade power ups, like a head start, or an extra pardon in case you are caught by the police. I was kind of hoping for more upgrades in the store.

The gameplay is fast paced. You can definitely get going super fast, so you will need good reflexes. You will always want to try to stay on the path as well, cause it will make you go faster. Also enemies will get on your way, so you will have to watch out for them. My favorite part of the game is collecting the boxes. If you see a box on your path, get it cause it will give you a power up. Some power ups give you a boost, others a shield, others a hammer which is useful to hit rocks that might get on your way.

I do like how the backgrounds change often, it keeps the game fresh and it doesn’t get repetitive as fast. Gems are another important part of the game. You will want to collect them to use them in the store for upgrades and different characters. Some of the characters are pretty pricey, and even some upgrades, sadly this is just a normal thing for lots of mobile gaming these days. Completing goals is another part of the game, if you accomplish them, then you will get a reward.

As you can tell, the game is pretty simple, it is so simple, that anyone can probably play it. Every time you die, you get a spinning wheel, and you get the chance to get a bonus. You can get a head start, extra gems, or even nothing .

Story/Premise:

The story of the game is about trying to get your freedom back. You were a prisoner, and now the police is chasing you. Your goal is to get away for as long as you can with the help of some power ups.

Replay Value:

The replay value is good for a few minutes here and there. Super Mole Escape is more for casual gamers, it is the perfect game for when you have a minute and you are bored.  Also getting all the characters and upgrades will definitely take hours and hours of gameplay.

Conclusion:

The game is great for casual gamers, simple yet entertaining. A great addition for the endless genre. The game is only 99 cents, and universal as well. Like I said, I don’t see myself playing this game for hours, it is more of a game where you play some minutes here and there.
