Mutant Mudds has been a pleasant game and also challenging at times, but to pay just a buck for a great platformer game is pretty much a steal. Read our full review to find out our impressions of this game.
Controls/Gameplay:
The controls work pretty well considering we are talking about touch screen controls. There are some arrows that will help you direct your character, a shoot button, a jump one, and if you press the same jump button again, then it will make you fly for a certain period of time.
Mutant Mudds is a retro looking platformer that really works well. The cool part of this game, is that it offers 3 different dimensions on each level. Sometimes you will be playing really close to the screen, and other times it seems you are pretty far away from it. The game also features 60 levels, and lots of secret adventures that you can discover as well.
The graphics look great, so if you are a fan of retro graphics, then you will want to get into this game. You can also collect gems during the levels, and use them to buy more powerful shots. There are different worlds, and they all change backgrounds a lot, some of them have snow, others fire, and more. There are also checkpoints throughout the levels, which is nice cause some levels can definitely get challenging. You can check your health in the upper right corner, and once you run out of hearts, then it will be game over.
The levels are definitely fun, and you will be fighting all kinds of enemies, bosses, spikes, and more.
Story/Premise:
Max is the main character, and now he has to fight all kinds of monsters that somehow have invaded this world.
Replay Value:
The replay value is pretty good, the game comes with plenty of levels for just a buck. Some levels will also take you a while to beat, since they can get challenging.
Conclusion:
Mutant Mudds is definitely worth a buck, it comes with lots of content and it is a well made retro platformer. Definitely grab it if you haven’t.
