s promised, Mega Run is finally out and the wait is over, and the best part is that you can download it for free in the app store and it is a universal app. As you know, the game is from the makers of Mega Jump, and if you loved that game, (which I am sure everybody did), then chances are that you will definitely love this one as well. The game starts out pretty easy, I don’t think each level gets harder and harder, the levels are just different, and some are just harder than other ones. Watch out for level 10 of the second world, it literally took me many tries to beat it. Mega Run is not an endless game, the game features 4 different worlds with 64 levels. The levels are not too long, they probably take less than a minute to finish, I am not quite sure if there were checkpoints during the game, sometimes I died and started from the beginning, and other times it would start me from a different part of the level.
As you can tell from the screenshots, there are 28 different power ups during the game that you will discover. There are two ways you can unlock the power ups, one through in app purchases, and the other one you will eventually unlock it by playing the game and buying it from the store with the money you get from playing. You really don’t need in app purchases in this game, if you are a little patient, you can definitely unlock the power ups and have enough money to buy them. Not only the store offers power ups that you can keep upgrading, but you can also get 7 different characters which is always nice to have options. The controls couldn’t be any easier, (doesn’t necessarily mean all the levels are easy), all you do is tap the screen to jump, and if you tap and hold a little longer, then you will jump higher. The graphics look very nice in the iPhone, I still think they could look nicer on the new iPad, so I am hoping there will be an upgrade with retina graphics for the new iPad.
During the levels you will find different kinds of enemies, to kill them, all you have to do is jump on them, and they will automatically die. However, I did have an issue with this part, (which can be very frustrating), sometimes I would jump on the enemy, and for some weird reason, I would fall off the level and die, I wonder if anybody else has had this issue, I am not really sure why this would happen sometimes. Other than that, the game is so worth getting it, it is free and the developers already promised more free updates to come in the future regularly with new worlds, stages and more!
And by the way, there is also a little story behind this cute little game:
Mega Run is free, however, it is comparable with most paid games of the same genre. Have you got it yet? Did it live up to the hype?
