Not too long ago Left2Die came out, and I remember seeing the video trailer of the game, and it grabbed my attention. I try to review as many games as possible, but it is impossible to get to all of them, but I finally made some time to take a look at Left2Die. So here we go!
Graphics:
The graphics look decent, but I still think it can look better in the new iPad. I am sure it does look pretty good in the iPhone and older iPads as well. There are 3 different locations where you can play, and the levels have places you can go inside and out. You can tell the developers took some time to focus on the design of the game, the game has different places, zombies, and characters.
Controls/Gameplay:
I heard a lot of people complaining about the controls, and that was one of my concerns before I even got to try the game. The controls are not too bad, it does take maybe a little time to get used to them, but nothing too bad. Believe me, if I can do it, you can, cause I am not the best when it comes to shooting games. There are 2 joysticks, one on each side of the screen. The left one is to move your character, and the right one to shoot. The 3 middle bottons are the weapons you get to choose per game, you can only choose up to 3 weapons.
The game starts out pretty easy, but it does get a lot more challenging later on. The game features 60 missions, an endless mode, and multiplayer. There are 3 different backgrounds you can unlock by completing missions. Missions include killing a certain number of zombies in a period of time, staying alive for a minute, and more. The missions do seem to be similar, but I still had fun. During the gameplay, you will discover different types of zombies. Some are pretty fast, others spit nasty stuff at you, and others are huge and strong.
Making money in the game is an important part since that will allow you to buy stuff in the store. You will always get money even if you lose, but of course you will get a lot more if you accomplish the missions. The store has plenty of stuff to buy, lots of characters with different abilities. Some characters make more money, others are stronger, others provide more ammo, and more. There are also lots of guns, chainsaws, grenades, baseball bats, machetes, and much more. Some weapons are not too expensive, but you will also find some that will definitely take you some time to get, unless you get them through in app purchases. Not only you have all those choices, but you can also keep upgrading most of the weapons. You can upgrade their ammo capacity, rate of fire, and reload speed. So far I have only unlocked probably half of all the weapons, so I still have more to unlock and it is mostly the most expensive stuff.
You can also make decent money by playing the endless mode. I also got to try the multiplayer mode, and it was actually pretty cool. You can play co-op, and death match with other players. I personally think having the multiplayer mode is a plus, it is always fun being able to play the game with friends or even just a random player. Every once in a while when you kill a zombie, it will drop money, health, or ammo. I so wish the health wouldn’t go down so fast, you can definitely die pretty fast in the game. It is important to keep moving the whole time while you are shooting, it will give you a better chance of survival. You will also find sometimes random power ups on the ground that you can get. Some of them are faster movement, a shield, double damage, and double money. As you can tell, the game does have a decent amount of content, I just wish the health could be better and how fast the character moves.
Story/Premise:
It is all about zombies, and your goal is to survive. It won’t be that easy, but thankfully you will be able to get weapons in the store to help you out.
Replay Value:
There are plenty of missions right now to keep you busy for a while, and the multiplayer mode definitely adds more replay value. Not to mention all the stuff that can be unlocked in the store. I still hope there will be future updates with more backgrounds and maybe fixing the health and better movement for the characters.
Conclusion:
I have to say that Left2Die was better than I expected, yes it is not perfect, but I still think it has a lot more good than bad. With a few fixes and more content, the game can get better and better. The game is only 99 cents, and it is a universal app. I do think the game is pretty good for 99 cents, and if you are looking for a top shooter game, then you might want to give this one a try.

Awesome review. I’m always a big fan of any kind of zombie game.
I am glad you liked it. I kind of feel the same way, even though there are lots of zombie games, I still find myself playing them
