Knights Of The Round Cable from Chillingo is here, and I wasn’t even aware that this game is actually an endless game. However, this game is not just any endless game, it is actually quite unique.
Graphics:
The graphics look good in the new iPad, but I still they can look better. The game is quite colorful, and the backgrounds change every time you move on to the next level. The game looks more cartoony, and overall I like the graphics.
Controls/Gameplay:
The controls are pretty good, it still takes a little time getting used to playing, but not because of bad controls, it is because the game gets harder and harder. There are only 2 main bottons on the screen, one of the right hand side, and another one on the left side. The one on the right side is to release your hook to latch into the anchor points. You will have to hold onto the bottom until you don’t want to swing anymore. The left botton will change the direction you are swinging, which is good to know in order to avoid enemies. During there are different castles, which are like levels. You will always start on castle #1, and your goal is to survive for as long as you can while collecting treasures.
As you progress into the game, you will find more enemies. You first start with only 2 lives, but you can upgrade later and add more. You will also sometimes find additional hearts you can pick up during the game which will improve your health for that game. The enemies you find will be flying all over the place, so you will have to dodge them. Avoiding enemies is not always an easy thing to do, but thankfully you can have many lives. You will also fin princesses during the levels that you can rescue. They are usually on one side of the levels and they are inside cages. All you really have to do is hit the cage to save the princess.
There are goals to complete during the gameplay, if you do, then you get to rank up. A store is also available in the game. You will find different upgrades such as additional lives, magnets, and different knights. The knights that are available look different, and they each have different abilities. You can just keep upgrading your items to make them better. I do think the store needs more items that you can buy, and hopefully new updates will be coming in the future. The game has been pretty fun so far, it is also a universal app and you can find it in the app store for only 99 cents.
Story/Premise:
The game is all about princesses being kidnapped, and crazy dangerous dragons being evil. Ghosts and witches will try to kill, you are the only hope, Knights Of The Round Cable. You must try to endure, defeat enemies and rescue princesses.
Replay Value:
The game is en endless game, so the replay value focuses on staying alive for as long as you can, unlocking upgrades in the store, and completing goals. The game is more for casual gamers who are looking for a simple but fun game.
Conclusion:
Knights Of The Round Cable is fun, and in my opinion unique, which is a huge plus. There are so many endless games in the app store, but this one is a little different in a good way. It is a good time waster, I just really hope future updates are coming adding more upgrades in the store. The game is colorful, fun, and action packed!
