Downhill Xtreme Is Free, And The Graphics Look Pretty Awesome [iOS Review]

If you love sports games, such as skateboarding, then you must try Downhill Xtreme. The game is free for limited time, and it is a universal app, but where the game truly shines, it is in the iPad, the graphics look pretty awesome. The game is pretty self explanatory, there is a multiplayer mode, where you get to compete with other people around the world, and also a carrer mode. In the carrer mode, the more you play, the more locations you will unlock around the world. Also before you can compete against anybody, you have to qualify for the level, so first you get to play the level by yourself, and if you complete it under a certain amount of time, then you can move on and compete against other players. The levels are not too long, there are about a minute or two long. The controls are easy enough, (that doesn’t mean you will not need to practice), there are only two imaginary bottoms, on the left side of your character is to brake, and the right side to tuck, this will help you with going faster, and you just need to tilt your device to steer.

There is a store in the game where you can customize your character with different outfits, skateboards, and you can even get coaches that will help you succeed. In order to beat a level, you need to finish on second or first place, so far it hasn’t been to hard for me. The more you play, the more challenges you will need to face, like learning to drift, and sometimes there will be obstacles blocking part of your path, so you will for sure need to pay attention. Some things in the store are kind of expensive, so far I haven’t had to spend money on in app purchases, so it hasn’t been too bad for me. There is always music playing during the game, it kind of gets you in the mood of racing, you might be able to play your own music, I am not 100% sure.

I am really enjoying the game so far, I am going to keep playing it, it is definitely worth the download while it is free, you really have nothing to lose. I am impressed with the graphics, and it is pretty fun, it is kind of exciting to unlock new locations. Try the game, and let me know what you think of it!
