The long wait is over and Dead Trigger has blown onto the mobile scene. Madfinger games who have made other hit titles with the most notable being ShadowGun have designed a masterpiece in their new zombie apocalypse first person shooter. Dead Trigger is amazing on many levels and does have a few quirks so read on to find out.

Graphics:

Madfinger games have really stepped up their game with the graphics in Dead Trigger. All aspects of the visuals just scream console quality. We just recentlyreviewed Asphalt 7 which wowed us with its amazing cars and race tracks. Dead Trigger may have just one upped them in our book with all around awesome visuals.  From the zombies to your guns to the water effects you can’t help but smile as you blow a zombies head to pieces all while water and blood is dripping down your screen.

Controls/Gameplay:

The controls of Dead Trigger are typical of most mobile shooters out there with the left side joystick moving you around as the right side joystick aiming your gun and adjusting your view.  We had no issues aiming and moving in the levels unless we were grabbed by a random zombie of course.  The gameplay has you completing missions at different locations.  At times some missions such as picking up cargo and moving it to another location did seem a bit repetitive but were a minor detail in an otherwise stellar game. At times zombies can jump over objects but you can’t which is a little frustrating but you will learn to go around them soon enough.

Story/Premise:

Zombies are definitely the latest rave these days yet Madfinger games has created awesome visuals to give you the true feeling of a zombie apocolypse . There are not cutscenes to speak of during this game that we have seen so far but would be nice to tie more of a story into the character you are playing. The excellent shooting experience does trump any downsides though because the game is just that fun.

Replay Value:

If you enjoy shooting games at all this game will make you love them. It is just so fun time and time again to blast zombies apart all while scared stiff as a zombie might sneak up behind you and take a chomp out of you. There are loads of upgrades to be earned or purchased in the game that will keep hardcore gamers coming back for more. In app purchases are not necessary to progress in the game but definitely would not hurt as some levels get a bit tricky.

Conclusion:

For 99¢ you definitely will not go wrong with this game. Early reviews in the App Store of this game can not believe how cheap the game is for the quality of this game is awesome. This is one of those games where you can justify some in app purchases because of the pure awesomeness that is Dead Trigger. Lets hope with the popularity of this game that a multiplayer mode will come to make this game perfect. If you haven’t already go buy this awesome shooter!

You find the story (or lack of it, rather) underwhelming but still give it 8.5/10? A bit ridiculous don’t you think?

  2.

Yes that is true about the non existent story we shall adjust the story rating accordingly. The game is only 99¢ so we are not that harsh as we would be on a 7 dollar game like the amazing spiderman Hopefully they will release a story mode in the future. Thanks for your input!
