Asphalt 7 has a lot to live up to after Asphalt 6 set the bar so high.  I am happy to say that Asphalt 7 has improved upon the previous version in every way imaginable. Gameloft has really done an excellent job of improving upon the previous game without losing the fun gameplay we have grown to love.

Graphics:

To say Asphalt 7 Heat is stunning is an understatement, the graphics are amazing but don’t take my word for it check out the screenshots from this post.  I have shown the game off to a few friends and the first thing out of their mouse was “wow it looks like your playing an xbox game” It really is that good.

Controls/Gameplay:

Asphalt 7 racing is so intense that at times you actually forget about the controls because you are so immersed in the racing experience.  The controls are very similar to the previous version with accelerometer turning and left taps for braking and drifting with the right side of the screen for using turbo. At first it takes some adjustment to get used to the sensitivity of the accelerometer but quickly I was able to master the controls.

Story/Premise/In App Purchases:

Asphalt 7 Heat takes you all over the world from Shanghai to London and from the Bahamas to Iceland.  The game levels are almost as fun to look at as the race that is taking place.  The girl narrator at times can be a tad annoying with her same statements such as “new record”.  It is nothing that can’t be turned off in the settings though :)

Many people were wondering why this game was going to be so cheap. I am still wondering the same thing even after playing the game I can’t help but think 99¢ is a steal.  In app purchases are definitely in this game but not crucial to your advancement in the game. I see the in app purchases more as options to get that car you always wanted even though the one they give you is perfectly capable. Just by doing good on the levels you earn enough cash and stars to buy upgrades and cars at a very good rate.

Replay Value:

You can sink a large amount of time into this game and only make a small dent on all the things available to do. We are just reviewing the career mode of this game as there is a quick match and multiplayer mode also that deserve their own review.  Whether you like to complete every objective in the game or have every car in your garage Asphalt 7 Heat will keep you racing for a long time.

Conclusion:

Asphalt 7 Heat is worth every penny of the 99¢ they are currently charging for this game. The graphics, gameplay, and excellent replay value will in no doubt make this a classic title for years to come.
