Positives

Almost everything has been enhanced from the original Anomaly but the core gameplay has remained the same which is a good thing.

Negatives

Story Mode could use a few more missions. If you play on easy you might find yourself finishing the game sooner than expected

Anomaly Korea by 11 bit studios is the much anticipated sequel to Anomaly Warzone Earth that was a genre creating type of game. Almost everything from the first installment of Anomaly has be updated with improved visuals, weapons, sounds, and effects. More strategy elements and enemies have also been added to make you carefully traverse your army through the battlefield.

There are 3 levels of difficulty as in the first Anomaly and as you would imagine Easy is pretty easy with some resistance along the way. Intermediate does provide a lot of challenges but can ultimately be beat with persistence. Advanced on the other hand is for the perfectionist that has to make each move at the right time or you are toast.

If you haven’t played the original the object of each level is to plan your course and pick you army to arrive at the endpoint. Along the way you will encounter enemies, earn money to replenish or upgrade your units. You will also receive special power ups such as health, stealth mode, beast mode I like to call it when your units can fire longer and farther distance for a brief period of time. As you progress throughout the game you will earn new units to be added to your army. Some of the tanks have special abilities that will charge up as you kill enemies and can be used to annihilate one specific enemy. The shield tank is very useful too as it provides a shield to the unit in front and back of it.

If you were a fan of the original Anomaly you definitely need to get the sequel. Those of you that love strategy games will also want to take a good look at this game as it is very well done in almost every aspect. The only minor complaint with the game would be to have a longer campaign mode. Thankfully the devs did include a new art of war levels that test your strategy skills to the max. There are also 3 levels of difficulty to master on each levels which does add to the replay value. There is a pretty sweet opening cinematic to this game and frequent in game dialogue to provide a story to follow. Anomaly Korea is currently on sale for $2.99 in the App Store and Google Play.
